With $25 million led by Bain Capital Ventures, Corridor combines expert advisors and AI to bring trusted benefits guidance to every small business

Today, Corridor, the AI-native benefits brokerage built for small businesses, launches with $25 million in funding. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from BoxGroup, Definition Capital and angel investors including founders and executives from OpenAI, Modal, Ramp, Scale AI, Oscar, Rogo, Decagon, Medallion, Reducto, and Tennr.

Nearly 6 million U.S. businesses have fewer than 50 employees, employing more than 36 million Americans. People at small businesses pay 57% higher deductibles than employees at large companies, often for worse coverage, and only about half of small employers offer health benefits at all.

“For decades, small businesses have been sold the leftovers of the health insurance market,” said Nikhil Aggarwal, CEO and co-founder of Corridor. “But health insurance is just as complex and consequential, whether a company has 60 employees or 6,000. We built Corridor to give small businesses access to the same caliber of service as the largest companies in America. If we do our job right, small business owners and their employees should never have to think about health insurance again.”

Corridor was founded by Aggarwal, Jason Dong, Jackson Wagner and Eric Qian, bringing together experience from both healthcare and AI. Aggarwal led growth at ICHRA platform Venteur, building 250+ brokerage partnerships, while Dong co-founded pharma payments business Mural Health. Wagner and Qian built AI and data infrastructure products to unlock breakthroughs in autonomous vehicles and generative AI while at Scale AI.

What Corridor means for small businesses

Companies with 1 to 500 employees are often too small for traditional brokerages to serve well. With Corridor, these businesses work with a dedicated, licensed benefits advisor who helps them understand their options, evaluate tradeoffs and choose the right plan for their team.

Corridor clients are already saving an average of 20% on their health benefits without compromising on quality. The company is serving small businesses across industries ranging from technology and hospitality to physical therapy, wealth management and dental practices.

Why traditional brokerage fails small businesses

A 20-person account generates a fraction of the revenue of a large enterprise account, yet requires much of the same work to quote, place and support throughout the year. For small businesses, that has historically meant less help comparing plans, less strategic guidance, and less support to employees.

Corridor changes those economics with AI. Its agents handle the operational work behind the brokerage, from organizing company and plan data and comparing options across carriers to building proposals, supporting enrollment and coordinating with carriers. This allows Corridor advisors to spend their time focusing on strategic work with customers and their employees rather than being bogged down by administrative work.

What it’s like to use Corridor

A business owner starts by telling their Corridor advisor about their team, budget and goals through a short form or a quick call. From there, an army of AI agents works 24/7 to gather all of the quotes, compare every viable option, and flag risks so that their Corridor advisor comes back with clear options tailored to the business. Employees then choose the plan that works best for them.

“Founders usually tell us how large a market can become. Nikhil made it clear he wanted healthcare to be a smaller one,” said Ryan Kim, Partner at Bain Capital Ventures. “Administrative cost is the part of a premium that buys no care, and insurance distribution is where much of it accumulates because the work is still manual. Corridor’s agents do that work, so every employer gets quoted against the full market and carriers have to compete on price. It’s precisely the kind of company we raised our newest fund to back, and it’s why we led Corridor’s round.”
